Our Story
Hey there! I'm Siddhant Bhalinge, the Founder and CEO of Ugaoo, and I'd love to share our story with you.
It's a story of passion, perseverance, and a deep love for nature that's been passed down in my family for three generations.
Rooted in tradition
Our story began with Namdeo Umaji
The oldest seed company in India, founded by my great-grandfather in 1885.
As a young boy, I spent my days in his Byculla shop, surrounded by the promise of life contained in tiny seeds. Those formative years really were the stepping stones of Ugaoo’s own journey.
Inspired by this legacy, I went off to the U.S. to pursue a degree in landscaping Architecture.
When I returned, I knew the time was right to blend our family’s historic agricultural roots with modern, cutting-edge technology.
That’s how Ugaoo came to life in 2015.

Buying plants can sometimes be overwhelming, especially in the beginning. Through our blog, newsletter, and social channels, we’ve made a conscious effort to educate and inspire customers in their journey.

Our plants always enhance the spaces they occupy. We make concerted efforts in not only nurturing our plants in the best way possible, but making them look good too.
